Lilia Menses
Lilia Esther Meneses Trujillo is an Indigenous woman of the Guanano people of Colombia.
She is a guardian of ancestral wisdom and an entrepreneur rooted in the Amazon, founder of the « Casa de saberes y sabores » (House of Knowledge and Flavors) in the Panure Indigenous Reserve. From this sacred territory, she nurtures memory and identity through food. She is a driving force behind the Sabor Selva y Río gastronomic festival and a member of the Guaviare Gastronomic Experience Network, devoted to honoring and sharing the richness of Colombian Amazonian cuisine.
Her passion for cooking is a living inheritance, woven from the teachings of her grandmothers and the women who came before her. Through each dish, she keeps ancestral knowledge alive. Beyond the kitchen, she uplifts local craftsmanship sustained by women’s hands and hearts, and she is a devoted teacher of peace, guiding the youth of her community toward harmony, dignity, and cultural pride.
